When his pack alpha becomes fed up with his rebellion, werewolf Trevor is overdue for an attitude adjustment. Lone wolf Dirk is charged with this task, as a favor to the pack. Dirk, though, seems more interested in claiming Trevor for himself, by any means necessary. And regardless of Trevor’s feelings on the matter.

Excerpt

Trevor is rebelling as most kids his age do.  Unfortunately that is not allowed in a werewolf pack.  This is a danger to Trevor and humans.  To “tame” Trevor his alpha sends in Dirk.  Dirk is more interested in the fact that Trevor is gay like him so he takes the chance to have a mate.

I think for the dub-con to work the story needed to be longer and more involved.  I just couldn’t believe Trevor would have any emotional attachment with Dirk except hate and fear.  There is no real attempt on Dirk’s part to build anything.  It was just assumed by the story that suddenly having sex would magically fix everything.  Ok, I get that for this world having sex with another wolf must create a bond because it is inferred but I don’t buy that it magically fixes everything between the two men.  This was basically sex with no plot.  The sex scenes aren’t even believable, sex and no lube, not even spit…..O_O  Yikes.

The writing itself was ok, nothing bad or good.  I just couldn’t connect with either character.  I just didn’t get enough of THEM.  Overall the story just didn’t work for me.

Unaware he has werewolf DNA, Gabriel is stunned to learn after an attack that he now has the ability to change into a wolf. Still reeling from the discovery of his family genetics he is surprised when his wolf self tried to claim a pair of twin fae.

Vien and Viell had come to help Anthony discover more about the mutant threat. When they discover a wolf shifter who claims to want them both they are shocked to realize they might have been looking in the wrong place their entire lives.

Note: There is no sexual contact between the twins.

Excerpt

Gabe is a human that works for Anthony as an architect.  One night after being out with his best friend, Gabe is attacked by mutant werewolves.  Anthony and his guards arrive in time to stop Gabe from becoming a mutant but his recessive werewolf DNA is kick started and Gabe becomes a werewolf.  When Gabe wakes up from all of this he meets his mates, twin faes there to liaison between Anthony and the fae king about the mutant problem.

This book just didn’t do it for me.  I never connected with Gabe or the twins.  Viell we never really get to know at all and Gabe and Vien little more.  The mating is quick, Gabe’s training happens quickly, and the trip to the fae world is quick.  Everything happens very fast with little to no explanation.  I just couldn’t grasp much before it was over.  It all happened so easy too.  Really there was very little angst in the story until the very end and with the depth of the story it didn’t have near the impact it should have.

The writing was jumpy and choppy.  It was more like the book had separate scenes for each major part and they weren’t merged together to create a story, reminds me a bit of reading a journal.  There was natural progression from one “scene” to the next. The ménage isn’t even a true one.  It is more like two relationships together.  The twins don’t interact sexually so for me that makes it less of a true ménage relationship.

I have enjoyed this author before but this was not one of her better works for me.  I would have enjoyed a longer read to actually get to know the characters so I could connect to the story and all that happens.

Cole had everything: a great education, his own company, money, and Daniel, his lover since college. But in gaining everything, he lost the one thing he’d been building that life for: Daniel. Now that Daniel has moved on, Cole is without direction or purpose. Turning to alcohol and drugs to fill the void left behind, Cole dives head first into a downward spiral, unaware that there is another who loves and cares for him.

As Cole’s guardian angel, Raziel has watched Cole since birth, and his love for his ward is deep and abiding. Witnessing Cole’s fraying life breaks Raziel’s heart, and when the thread that binds them together wavers during an overdose, Raziel breaks all the rules just to keep Cole alive. The consequences are unthinkable, but a life without Cole is a loss that Raziel simply can’t conceive. An angel’s soul was made to love, after all, and if he saves Cole, perhaps he can show Cole how the end of one great love doesn’t mean another waits patiently for him.

I liked the characters and the writing style.  These two authors are wonderful writers and this one reflected that.  There is just one major problem I had with the story.  There wasn’t anything new to it.  It is just like you would expect the story to go.  No new twists or unusual events.  I was a little disappointed to see that as I was expecting some twist on an old plot idea.  It really isn’t worth going to read since you can read the blurb and pretty much know how the story is going to go.

Kat is a happy new mother, but a very unhappy wife. Resigned to her life with a cruel husband, Kat sets out to make the most of the weekend she must spend with the Red Devils, a violent motorcycle gang that her husband joined just a few months earlier.

While Kat expects to submit to the rules of the club, which includes being shared among the many men who ride in it, she never expects to garner the sole attention of the gang’s sexy leader: a mysterious man with a taste for mothers’ milk.

Secure under Ben’s thirst and protection, Kat experiences kindness, affection, and sexual fulfillment like she’s never known. She soon discovers that she is not the repulsive whore her jealous husband would have her believe, but a decent woman worthy of love and respect.

However, even Ben’s powerful position can’t stop the vicious betrayal that is coming their way — a desperate and dangerous act that might ultimately tear Ben and Kat apart.

Excerpt

If you are one that has trouble with non-monogamous relationships, DO NOT read.  The blurb and excerpt tell you to expect that.  There is also a brief scene with M/M action.

The writing in the story is pretty good but the characters are a bit of an issue.  I felt like I was thrown into the story which isn’t bad if the author can make you get to know and empathize with the characters.  I didn’t really feel like this was done.  The felt a lot more concentrated on the sex scenes than anything else.

I think the author has potential but missed the mark with this one.  Yes, this contains fetish material and is more of an erotic bend but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to have the characters mean something to me.  I felt disconnected from the characters so even the sex scene hit a dull note for me, which felt like what the story was mainly based on.

Experienced dominant Marcus Tremayne has a stalker. On the plus side, the boy following him around his local leather club is gorgeous and a self-professed submissive. Unfortunately, he’s also inexperienced, bratty, and liable to drive Marcus insane within his incessant chatter and questions.

Bret Daniels fell head over heels with Marcus the moment he first saw him. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to get Marcus’s attention and prove his worth as a submissive. He might not be a traditional sub, but he knows he has a lot to offer a dom who can handle his quirks.

When Marcus gives in and agrees to do a scene with Bret, sparks fly. One scene quickly becomes another, and another. But will it be a case of once a brat, always a brat? Bret intends to prove to Marcus that—expectations and experiences aside—he deserves his master’s collar.

Excerpt

If you have read any of Kim Dare’s work you know the usual writing style.  I’m a bit disappointed by this one.  There is usually a lack of depth to the stories that I put down to being a short story.  This one was really flat.  The characters were interesting but not particularly engaging.  Cute but not captivating.  I liked the characters but the plot didn’t go anywhere, or at least not anywhere unexpected.  I also didn’t agree with the love angle in the story.

This story just didn’t impress me.  It was entertaining but not particularly good:(
